Right Eye Makeup Tips and Tricks

1. Always use primer

An eye primer creates a clean canvas that acts as a barrier between your eye makeup and the natural oils in your skin. This way, your eye makeup will stay put, so you can keep touch-ups to a minimum.

2. Decode your palette

Below is a general breakdown of your basic eye makeup palette to help you determine the color that corresponds to each part of the eye.

Lightest Color: This is your base color. Apply from the upper lash line all the way to under the eyebrows. You can also use this color on the inner tear duct corner, the deepest part of your eyeshadow, for a little extra brightness.

Next Light: This is your eyelid color as it is slightly darker than the base color. Swipe this on your lids from your upper lash line to your crease.

Second Darkest: This is applied to the crease for a contoured effect. This should go over the area where your brow bone meets your eyelid - it helps create definition.

Darkest Color: Last is the lining. Using an angled brush, apply on the upper lash line (or the lower lash line if you want a bold lift), making sure to reach where the roots of the lashes meet the lids so there are no noticeable gaps.

3. Highlights

Highlight the inner corners of your eyes for a super flattering look. Take a light shimmery eyeshadow, dab on the inner corner of the eye and blend well.

4. Use shades of white to make the colors more vibrant

If you really want your eye makeup to pop, start with a white base. Blend a white pencil or eyeshadow all over the lid and apply eyeshadow on top for more vibrant color.

5. Clean Your Makeup Fix

After eye makeup is complete, use a cotton swab dipped in micellar water to wipe off any smudges and clean up lines for a more defined look.

6. Choose your eye makeup formula wisely

Pressed eye shadow is your most used base formula. They are a no-clutter option. Cream shades are ideal if you want a dewy finish. Loose shades usually come in a small jar, but it's the messiest of the three.

7. Choose the right eye makeup brush

Here are the three most important ones you should have

Basic Eyeshadow Brush: The bristles are flat and firm for full tint.

Blending Brush: The bristles are soft and fluffy for seamless blending.

Angled Eyeshadow Brush: This is a precision brush ideal for applying eyeliner above the lash line.
